Our Story
We are Chris, Kate and Magnus, a full-time nomadic travel family from the UK with a love for adventure, exploring wild places and enjoying life together in the great outdoors.
In 2023, Chris completed a six-year, 19,000-mile walk around the UK coastline, raising over £500,000 for veterans' charity SSAFA. Three years into his journey, he met me, Kate, in the Scottish Highlands during my solo adventure. I soon left my old life to join him for the next three years. We covered thousands of miles, lived in a tent, and welcomed our son, Magnus. This journey clarified our passion for a simple, adventurous life outdoors. We wish to raise Magnus exploring the world and giving back to charity.
Wilderness Family marks our new chapter, venturing to wild places and sharing nature’s beauty, local cultures, and nomadic life. Although not formally trained, our love for storytelling leads us to self-film and edit documentaries. Since the walk, we've explored Scotland, especially the Outer Hebrides, in our campervan and tent. Now, it’s time for something new.
Our Next Adventure
In April 2025 we began cycling and hiking Europe's Atlantic Coast between Sagres, the south-western tip of Portugal to Nordkapp, the northern tip of Norway. We estimate the journey to be around a whopping 8,000 miles although with Norway's coastline, it could well turn out to be more. On our way, we are raising funds for the children's charity Make A Wish UK. The choice of adventure and and charity are both inspired by our son, Magnus.
